The Flaming Lips will embark on a two-week trek this summer and make their way to the Greek Theatre on August 17. Ghostland Observatory along with Stardeath and White Dwarfs will be supporting.
The concert will take place right before the expected fall release of the band's new double album, Embryonic. With every concert ticket bought online, fans will receive a digital EP allowing them to hear new LIPS music before anyone else. The EP will be comprised of three brand new recordings from Embryonic: “Convinced Of The Hex,” “The Impulse,” and “Silver Trembling Hands,” followed by three additional rare B-side tracks selected by the band themselves. Embryonic, tentatively due later this year, will be The Flaming Lips’ first double album. The set was recorded at studios in Fredonia, NY, and the group's hometown, Oklahoma City, OK, with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann. A press release from Warner Bros. says the record, “ just may be their most sonically adventurous and compositionally vernal form of musical expression ever.” Be one of the first to witness The Flaming Lips performing their new songs from Embryonic live when the psychedelic rocker veterans come to the Greek Theatre on August 17! |
