"THEY will make the requests that will help form the set list and guide the show. Through texts, handwritten signs, the Internet (Twitter, Facebook, etc) phone calls made during the show and selections directly from the stage, the fans will become the conductors as well as the audience. He also wrote the Billy Ray Cyrus/Amy Grant duet "Stripes and Stars." Craig Morgan recently recorded Canaan's song "Up All Night Down In the South." WAR has been honored with 17 gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards which include the triple platinum The World Is A Ghetto, double platinum Why Can't We Be Friends? and Greatest Hits, just to name a few. Today, WAR is a permanent part of America's pop cultural landscape.

For over 40 years, Tower of Power has been creating their own kind of soul music. Since 1968, Tower of Power has delivered their unique brand of music to their fans, appearing before sold out crowds as they tour the world each year. Tower's sound can be hard to categorize, but the band's leader and founding member, Emilio Castillo, has labeled their sound as "Urban Soul Music." With hits such as "So Very Hard to Go," "What is Hip" and "You're Still a Young Man," Tower's rhythm section lays down a groove like no other band. The band's horn driven sound is unique, and the way they approach everything, from writing and arranging to mixing and performing, is totally their own.</greek:bio>

<greek:bio>Primus is excited to announce a spring tour in support of Green Naugahyde, out now on ATO Records and Prawn Songs. The band will play The Greek Theatre, LA on Friday, June 8 with hometown favorites, Fishbone..

In conjunction with the tour, ATO Records will release a limited edition 10" single, with live versions of "Jilly's On Smack" and "Eyes of the Squirrel." The vinyl, which will be wrapped in a green naugahyde sleeve, will be available at independent record stores in late April. More details on this release will be available at ATORecords.com.

Green Naugahyde was produced and engineered by Les Claypool in his personal studio, Rancho Relaxo, in Northern California, and features Claypool, long-time guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Jay Lane. Lane was in an early lineup of the band, and was also in Sausage, a 1994 reunion of the 1988 Primus lineup. Green Naugahyde expands on Primus' incomparable sound and also sees them bringing it into the next millennium. It is a cerebral and complex album that, like all of the band's output, is teeming with the band's signature blend of whimsy and underlying darkness.

For the past 27 years, Primus have followed in the footsteps of boundary-pushing artists like Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd to create some of the most original and inventive music in existence. Green Naugahyde is a Primus record with all of the magic and mystery that phrase entails-and while no one can say for sure what the future will hold in store for the band, the most important thing is that the album exists and will inevitably hold its own in the band's impressive cannon of music.

Celebrating 25 groundbreaking years Fishbone has been trailblazing their way through the history of American Ska, Funk, Punk, Rock Fusion and (so-called) Black Rock since starting their professional career in Los Angeles' burgeoning, Alternative Rock music scene of the mid-1980s. Their sound has often been imitated, but never duplicated. They have toured worldwide with such bands as the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, Les Claypool/Primus, Fela Kuti, George Clinton, The Dead Kennedys and many more. Angelo Moore's ability to combine thought-provoking, humorous social commentary with FISHBONE's frenzied, up-tempo music and frantic, euphorically entertaining stage show has cultivated their undisputed reputation as one of the best live acts in music history.</greek:bio>

Green bridged the gap between smooth Philadelphia soul and gospel. In the mid-'70s, he joined the ministry and by the '80s, was solely a gospel performer. Green returned to soul in the early '90s and has since joined Blue Note Records. His latest album, Lay It Down, garnered two Grammy awards and had Green collaborating with younger stars including the Roots' ?uestlove, who co-produced the album. Spin said of the release, Lay It Down (with tasty guest spots from John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, and Corinne Bailey Rae) makes it clear that Green's devotion to the primacy of his music's groove has only deepened with age."

Allen Stone has shot up the RandB / Soul charts on iTunes, peaking at the number 2 spot, and hit #29 and #62 on the Billboard Heatseekers and RandB / Hip Hop Album charts, respectively. He has garnered national praise and USA Today called him a "pitch-perfect powerhouse," all without any support of a label, publisher or publicist. Stone's self-titled sophomore album has pushed his sound and lyricism to a greater level of noted individually. He's a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a chief guitar influence to rock titans like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, and Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city's halcyon days of electric blues. If that wasn't enough, he has received 6 Grammy Awards, 23 W.C. <greek:bio>In support of his recent release, Break It Yourself, Andrew Bird will perform at the Greek Theatre on Sunday, August 12 with special guest Sharon Van Etten.

Produced by Bird, Break It Yourself was recorded at his barn in Western Illinois near the banks of the Mississippi River. Paired with the album's deluxe CD package is the DVD Here's What Happened. The thirty-minute performance film was shot at Bird's barn during the recording of the album and captures the energy of the room in which the new release was conceived. Footage from Here's What Happened of Bird performing the track "Eyeoneye" can be viewed at http://bit.ly/GNr9gi.

Chicago-based film score composer, multi-instrumentalist and lyricist Andrew Bird picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. As a teen Bird became interested in a variety of styles including early jazz, country blues and gypsy music, synthesizing them into his unique brand of pop. Since beginning his recording career in 1997 he has released 11 albums, his first solo record Weather Systems coming in 2003. Bird has gone on to record with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and perform at New York's Carnegie Hall. Most recently Bird composed his first ever film score for the movie Norman (hailed as "a probing, thoughtful score" by The New York Times; available now on Mom + Pop), contributed to the soundtrack of The Muppets and collaborated with inventor Ian Schneller on Sonic Arboretum, an installation at New York's Guggenheim Museum and Chicago's

Museum of Contemporary Art.

Over the course of releasing three full-length albums celebrated by fans and critics, alike Because I Was In Love (Language of Stone; 2009), epic (Ba Da Bing; 2010), and now Tramp (Jagjaguwar, Feb. 2011), the Jersey-bred/Brooklyn-based Sharon Van Etten has affected a multitude of hearts and minds over the past couple of years. Tramp, a stunning album nuanced in a language of striking rock, minimal beauty, and pious strength, showcases an artist in full control of her powers. Over the last several years, Van Etten has opened the Pitchfork Music Festival, played Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, The Hollywood Bowl, Radio City Music Hall, sung on new albums by Beirut and Ed Askew, collaborated with Justin Vernon and Megafaun. </greek:bio>

<greek:bio>Joe Cocker and Huey Lewis and The News will co-headline at The Greek Theatre on August 15th. These hit-making artists will perform fan favorites and signature classics for one night only, under the stars in the heart of Los Angeles.

After more than 40 years in the music business, Joe Cocker is still one of the most successful and popular artists worldwide. Many of his 21 studio albums and 4 live albums have achieved multiplatinum status around the world. His releases have received Grammy Awards, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards. In 2007 he was handed the "Order of the British Empire (OBE)." In short: he's a legend.

The British soul singer parlayed Ray Charles-type vocals and an eccentric stage presence into a string of late-'60s hits, suffered in the mid-'70s, and went from tragic figure to well-respected interpreter in the '80s and '90s. With hits such as "Come Together," "With A Little Help From My Friends," and "Up Where We Belong," among others, his gritty, powerful voice remains one of the most distinctive in rock and roll today.

"Heart and Soul", the title of one of their hit songs, also explains the enduring appeal of Huey Lewis and The News. For over thirty years they have been making and performing music that resonates with people at their core. Whether it is their singing about the daily grind in "Workin' For A Livin'" or lamenting a troubled relationship in "If This Is It", this is a band that connects with people on a gut level.

In addition to commiserating over life's rough spots, they have also given their millions of worldwide fans a soundtrack for the celebration of life's great moments. The driving rhythm of "Heart of Rock and Roll" sings the praises of the great music being made across the US, while "Stuck With You" offers a love song with a tongue-in-cheek turn of phrase and amazing harmonies. Meanwhile "The Power of Love", which the band wrote for the hit film "Back To The Future", not only went to #1 on the Billboard singles chart, but also was nominated for an Academy Award.

As great as their recordings are, there is something extra special about the Huey Lewis and The News live shows.</greek:bio>

<greek:bio>Bonnie Raitt will perform at The Greek Theatre on Saturday, September 22nd, with special guest Mavis Staples.

2012 is shaping up to be the year of Bonnie Raitt with her latest release 'Slipstream' (Redwing Records) which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200, marking the nine time GRAMMY-winner's highest charting album and best sales week in nearly two decades. The album came in at #1 on the Billboard Independent Album Chart, #1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart, and #1 on the Billboard Internet Album Chart. The album's title is very significant for Bonnie -Slipstream isn't just a beautiful sounding word, but an indication of her place in the music community. "I'm in the slipstream of all these styles of music," she says. "I'm so inspired and so proud to continue these traditions, whether it's reggae or soul or blues. I'm in the slipstream of those who came before me, and I'm leaving one for those behind me. I'm holding up the traditions of the music that I love."

NPR praised 'Slipstream' as "vital and fresh... beautiful," a sentiment echoed by Rolling Stone, who in a 4-star review called the album "mood music with a razor edge." Entertainment Weekly raves, "Superb... she slips her purring voice into every song like a letter going into an envelope addressed just to you." Raitt's reinvented version of Gerry Rafferty's hit "Right Down The Line," is the first single from 'Slipstream' and has "just the right note of rueful worldly wisdom - and on her guitar solo, she shreds" (Rolling Stone). Raitt will be accompanied by her longtime touring band of James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums), and George Marinelli (guitar), with the new addition of Mike Finnigan (Joe Cocker, CSN, Etta James, Jimi Hendrix) on keyboards.

A lifelong activist, Raitt also provides benefit tickets for charity at every concert, and as well invites local non-profit organizations to share information about their work with concertgoers. For more information on Special Benefit Seating, go to www.guacfund.org.

In Mavis Staples' latest album, 'You Are Not Alone', the legendary vocalist added a remarkable new chapter to a historic career. Staples is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner and a National Heritage Fellowship Award recipient. VH1 named her one of the 100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll, and Rolling Stone listed her as one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.</greek:bio>

<greek:bio>Legendary electronic music producer, Amon Tobin will make his Greek Theatre debut on Friday, October 12 with ISAM Live, showcasing his spellbinding beats and visuals.

For the first time in Amon Tobin's career, he is now capable of delivering a truly groundbreaking visual experience that matches the scale of his renowned musical explorations. The avant-garde producer has officially stepped away from previous DJ-centric performances, and developed an entirely unique large-scale live show that expands on the concepts behind his most recent body of work: his seventh full-length studio album, 'ISAM'. Re-drawing and blurring the lines between psychedelia and sci-fi, between art and entertainment, between sound design and melody, with 'ISAM' Tobin created his finest, most intense work yet, a crowning achievement in the process that he describes as "re-ordering the things around me."

An all-encompassing visual onslaught - abstract narrative, subtle and bombastic - ISAM Live uses projection mapping, generative/audio reactive real time and pre-rendered elements combined with custom software to control the show. The visual elements have been synched to the 'ISAM' album to create an interactive, next level HD experience.

The show features a stunning 25' x 14' x 8' multi-dimensional/ shape shifting 3-D art installation that surrounds Tobin, enveloping both him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience. Amon conceptualized the show as a projection mapped "visual score" to the music from 'ISAM.' Situated within the installation, Tobin performs the music as a navigator of a large craft through a surreal visual epic.

ISAM Live, the spectacular audio-visual experience that stunned the world in 2011 will return in 2012 with an even more ambitious and stimulating global tour, starting with Coachella (April 20, 2012) and a prestigious run throughout North America this Autumn. In-between, ISAM Live will make its way back to London at the Brixton Academy in May. Additionally, ISAM Live shows have been announced at the world famous Sydney Opera Houseand#8203;- with two performances on June 2nd. This marks Tobin's first appearance in Australia since 2006.</greek:bio>
