LOS ANGELES, CA (February 18, 2010) –
The Greek Theatre, which is exclusively booked and operated by Nederlander Concerts, was named
North America’s “Best Small Outdoor Venue of the Year” and its General Manager,
Rena Wasserman, was named
North America’s “Facility Executive of the Year,” last night at the 21st annual Pollstar Awards.
This marks ten total wins for The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and the ninth time out of the last ten years. Wasserman is the Director of Operations and General Manager for the iconic venue plus oversees special projects and operations for Nederlander Concerts throughout the West Coast. This was her first nomination and win for the prestigious award.
The Greek Theatre consistently hosts the greatest in headline talent and the 2009 season showcased an unprecedented line-up with sell out performances by the Dave Matthews Band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, Flight of the Conchords, Jackson Browne and Regina Spektor among many others. This year the nominees for the award included respected venues such as, Chastain Park Amphitheatre (Atlanta, GA), Filene Center at Wolf Trap (Vienna, VA), the Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island (Chicago, IL), The Mountain Winery (Saratoga, CA) and the
Santa Barbara Bowl (Santa Barbara, CA), another
Nederlander exclusively booked venue.
With more than 30 years in the entertainment industry, Wasserman has managed several high profile events at The Greek Theatre including award shows, movie premieres and community events. This year’s esteemed nominees included Jack Larson

In addition to winning these two awards, Nederlander Concerts was also honored to have
Paola Palazzo nominated for
“Talent Buyer of the Year” and the Santa Barbara Bowlnominated again for “Best Small Outdoor Venue of the Year”, as noted above.
