LOS LONELY BOYS WILL PERFORM A SPECIAL ACOUSTIC SET AT THE GREEK THEATRE BENEFITING THE GRIFFITH PARK RECOVERY FUND

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 31, 2007) – In June Nederlander Concerts announced their plan to create a series of concerts at The Greek Theatre benefiting the Griffith Park Recovery Fund (GPRF), which supports the reforestation efforts needed after the fires earlier this summer. Now, GRAMMY-award winning trio of brothers Los Lonely Boys, have offered their time and will perform a private ticketed, acoustic set at 5:00 PM on August 17 prior to their main stage show.

Tickets for this special performance will be auctioned through Ticketmaster.com between August 1 and August 10, with bids starting at $50.00. Only 50 tickets will be available and all proceeds will benefit GPRF.

With over 4,210 acres of both natural chaparral-covered terrain and landscaped parkland and picnic areas, Griffith Park is the largest municipal park with urban wilderness area in the United States and over 800 acres were scorched in the May fires. The GPRF was created by the Greek Theatre Advisory Committee through the Department of Recreation and Parks for the City of Los Angeles and developed to replenish the vegetation that was lost in the fires.

“We are thrilled that Los Lonely Boys will donate their time to support this very important cause,” said Alex Hodges, Chief Operating Officer of Nederlander Concerts. “This will be a very special event for 50 lucky fans to meet the band prior to their live performance later that evening with special guest Toots and the Maytals.”

Since their worldwide breakout three years ago, Texican trio Los Lonely Boys - brothers Henry, JoJo and Ringo Garza - have achieved multi-platinum album sales, a Grammy Award (their monster hit 'Heaven' won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group in 2005), and widespread acclaim from critics, fans and other musicians. All those experiences and more have inspired their commanding album, 'Sacred,’ which has garnered rave reviews. Los Lonely Boys were recently selected to be part of Amnesty International’s Instant Karma: The Campaign to Save Darfur music campaign. Los Lonely Boys along with 50 other artists recorded John Lennon songs for a compilation CD that will raise funds for this campaign headed by Yoko Ono who donated John’s entire songbook. Their song “Whatever Gets You Thru the Night,” released in April on iTunes was selected as the 2nd single.
