LOS ANGELES, CA (May 18, 2004) – The Greek Theatre finished installation last month of a new VERTEC® line-array sound system from JBL Professional. This state-of-art sound system, fully powered by Crown amplifiers, was specified and installed by Schubert Systems Group of North Hollywood, CA. It was designed to provide accurate fidelity to those enjoying shows within the world-renowned, award-winning amphitheatre. The installation was completed in time for the season’s sold-out opening concert featuring David Bowie on April 22nd.
The Greek Theatre just completed an $8 million dollar renovation project in preparation for the 2004 season, which marks the venue’s 75th Anniversary. The new JBL sound system is one of many upgrades to the legendary venue, including architectural improvements such as the restoration of the venue’s original façade, the addition of a new plaza area, upgraded concession stands and renovations backstage, plus much more.
“The Greek Theatre has historically been the site of many legendary performances and we have always provided quality sound for these artists,” said Mike Garcia, General Manager of The Greek Theatre. “However after extensive research we felt that JBL’s VerTec sound system would better enhance the theatre’s sound quality and the overall experience for music fans and artists alike.”
